Stuttgart, home to lush, magnificent vineyards, lies at the forefront of automotive innovation and technology.

In the midst of the 19th century, this storied city stood at the forefront of yet another burgeoning technological leap.

During this period, cities began adopting the concept of broadcasting television signals from elevated locations to expand their coverage areas, as television technology underwent rapid advancement.

Stuttgart was the cradle of the world’s first TV tower, the Fernsehturm Stuttgart.

Completed in 1956, it was constructed from reinforced concrete and is the prototype for many such towers worldwide.

Today, the tower stands at a staggering 216.67 meters (710 feet) and provides awe-inducing vistas of the surrounding terrain from its 150-meter (492 feet) high observation deck.

This article covers everything you must know before booking tickets.

Where to book tickets

Tickets are available online or at the attraction.

Online ticket prices tend to be cheaper than tickets at the venue.
